Let’s be very clear about something. You can have both devices connected to different networks. However, doing so will likely decrease performance and trigger network lag on a regular basis.
1] Boot your Xbox Series console
Press the power button on either the console or the controller, then wait a few seconds.
2] Navigate to Settings
Tap on the Xbox button on your controller to launch the Guide.From there, go to Profile & SystemThen select the Settings option from the menu.
3] Enable Remote Play

4] Download and open the Xbox app

5] Connect both devices
The next step is to connect your Xbox to your laptop in order to play some games. Bear in mind once more that is recommended both devices are connected to the same network for optimal performance.
From the opened app, click the Consoles button located at the top-leftSelect your Xbox video game console.The Xbox will now automatically connect directly with your laptop.
You should now see a brief startup screen with the Xbox logo. Once completed, you now have the ability to interact with your Xbox as normal. Now, ensure your Xbox controller is connected because you won’t be able to interact with the console using the mouse and keyboard. Additionally, we should note that as long as the Xbox Series X/S device is set to Standby Mode, there will be no need to turn on the Xbox first.
